true true totally forgot avatar.... :P
an1 seen the new one? anime series.
.

Yeah I've seen the new Avatar anime series, it's really good. Not up to ATLA standards, feels a bit rushed in places (only 12 episodes) but it's also a bit more grown up & quite alot darker in some places.

If you liked ATLA I'd recommend givin TLoK a watch, just to see what their world is like in 70 years time.
It's still as funny as the original series was as well.

anyone know any places I can get the [RaX] subs of Death note, from reading about they are recommended as some of the other subs are really shitty,

http://www.animecraz...-note-episode-1

I think all the download links they have for each episode are by that guy, "DreXam" if that's the same one

Definitely this. So much has changed. It took me a while to get used to all of the new technology at first to be honest. :P

I also love pretty much any Studio Ghibli film. Visited the Ghibli museum when I went to Japan a few years ago - it was fantastic! :)

Yeah. Every Hayao Miyazaki film is a masterpiece. But those 3 are the best.

Film

Akira
Ghost in the Shell
Howl's Moving Castle
Ninja Scroll
Princess Mononoke
Spirited Away

Prefer darker anime and only watch dubs.

Akira and Princess Mononoke are my two favourite anime films, I know Akira is seen as like the first anime you should experience but it's still my favourite. If you like the studio ghibli stuff like Howl's moving castle you should watch Porko Rosso and Steam boy, both are sorta wierdly awful and awesome at the same time. Porko Rosso is from Studio Ghibli too.

Akira certainly isn't a bad movie, but I feel it's overrated. But that's just my bias speaking. It was amazing for its time & animation is still amazing now, but I feel ghost in the shell from the 90s is the best anime movie. I don't really like anime movies because they have such little time to spend. And most, you have to have watched the series to fully appreciate. However, that short "movie" Cencoroll was so innovative. It's a shame they didn't make that into something legitimately long.

since u watched my top 2 if you got a taste for anime comedy i mean hilarious and some really heavy pro made story arcs i'd suggest Gintama each episode is guaranteed to make you fall on the floor laughing while some of it's arcs can even bring a tear in your eyes i found it brilliant and not specifically intended for teens .

just checked some youtube vids of it and it seems good.saw the funny moments section and think i might have to look into getting series 1 or some such :D

Already seen Porco Rosso. It's good. Had a look at Steamboy on wiki. Looks good, have to check it out. Says it's steampunk based, which I like. If anyone else has any good steampunk or cyberpunk anime recommendations I'd appriciate them. Currently watching Ergo Proxy which seems pretty good so far.

Careful, this image is HUGE.
Spoiler

A list of new series coming this summer. Some of them have already started airing.
They don't look too interesting though, the ones that aired this spring were better. But we will see.
I do have some interest in Sword Art Online though.

Anything you might like?

I am going to add to the watchlist by recommending some comedies. I wasn't into them but then i read the manga and they are awesome.

- He is my master
- Love hina

Those 2 you should watch/read if you want something light.

And my all time favorites include:
- Death Note
- Bleach
- Naruto
- Full Metal Alchemist (!)

And please... never watch the dubbed ones... only the japanese with english subtitles. Naruto in english is making me crawl up the walls! Personal preference ^_^

[ENGI]The Grinn - I love the smell of napalm in the morning
~

Reaver's Demise will never happen as long as I am around.

A new show is out called Sword Art Online & I KNOW you guys would really like it. If you like MMOS (duh) then you'll find the premise very interesting - you can watch Sword Art Online Episode 1 here: http://m.realitylaps...word-art-online - watch it and lemme know what you think

EDIT/NOTE: please don't share this link as this site is one of the few iPhone/iPad anime sites that haven't been shut down yet.

I have seen a only few anime series, those that come to mind are Wolfs Rain and Afro Samurai and I enjoyed them. I don't often watch a lot, but can anyone recommend me a series for a genre newcomer?

I have scanned through the Anime section on Netflix a few times although I never committed to starting up a series because I didn't know much about it haha.
