So anthems release is feburary 22nd. the pre-order bonuses have just been fleshed out which for those unaware you can check here. https://www.ea.com/games/anthem/buy

For me personally im interested enough to pre-order but not through EA. as £50 for a banner and a exclusive pre-order skin ontop of the base game is waayy out of what id call reasonable pricing.

Me and rayva as well as many others im sure managed to play the alpha testing weekend that took place. and while i generally enjoyed it given the lack of content. The somewhat hopefulness of its expansiveness gave me good vibes for once. don't want another mass effect andromeda.

Im unsure how well received it was for rayva but im sure he will let you know.  :)

For now we know there is a functioning alliance system AKA guilds system in place. so maybe guild activities will be in game similar to destiny. Depending on interest we could see about setting up guild in the game. hence the entire point of this thread. just wanting to see general interest in DKR

And for those that don't know. Anthem is a looter TPS open world RPG that has elements of crafting and customisation.

I enjoyed the alpha playtest.

It was a bit short on content, but what I did get to experience was fast and smooth.

Graphics and sound were good, and once I tweaked the controls, flight and movement was also great.

I am not convinced on paying £55 for standard edition though, seems a bit steep to me.

£40 and I would pre-order.

With me playing Magic the gathering : Arena, and I expect AoC alpha + Apocalypse, I am not sure how much time I would have to invest in Anthem.

But chances are I will buy it anyway, although not until after release in the hopes of a price drop.

I feet it's important to add that I am extremely hesitant purely because this is an EA title.

They claim no lootboxes, but they've also clearly stated that they won't be changing their monetisation methods.

Will see in a few short months I guess.

I posted on this ages ago, but didn't get an alpha invite :(

I would pre-order, but if they are going down the DLC route like Destiny I may leave it.

no one knows what the support model will be like for the game after all its EA at the core of it. so it being like destiny in that its being continually supported seems to be bleak at best. but who knows!

I'm certainly interested in Anthem as well - also quite keen on Division 2 also, enjoyed Division 1 but didn't have anyone to play with (wasn't in DkR at the time!) so trying to juggle both will be interesting lol

could try cdkeys as that's where i was thinking of getting it as well if things didn't live up to what they might have been

https://www.cdkeys.c...y-origin-cd-key

its no g2a but it is still a grey market seller. deals with buying games from other regions or promotions and selling it for profit in other regions etc. but the choice is there.

I enjoyed the demo last weekend.

Looking forward to it this weekend with the other two javelins unlocked to try out (I didn't enjoy Colossus !)

I caved and pre-ordered, knowing that release will be even better than the demo vertical slice :)

I think it's more than worth the cost to get the Premium Pass on Origin to gain access. With all the games also included in the pass I think there's easily £90 worth of content there.

I suppose that is very dependent on what you might already own; but I feel it's worth it for me. Some good games I'd thought to buy on Steam.

Only downside is I'd have to renew my membership to keep those game...or at least I suspect so.

How did you find it? I've heard that the Anthem demo has been very buggy with a lot of connection issues etc. Has that improved much? Kinda made me a bit reluctant to purchase....

There are other issues this weekend, ie the issued from last weekend seem to be fixed but we have other things instead. On the whole I'd say it's a lot better but there is a problem with Stronghold (sort of the dungeon type content) which causes people to crash and if they happen to crash at a certain stage it will mean the stronghold can't be completed. Xbox apparently has got some connectivity issued but those are from the xbox live servers and not from BioWare/EA.

I have bought the Dawn edition, so I don't get to play a few days early like the Origin Access people do.

But I will be playing at launch
