Is it still £5 a month to have it on your phone? Or is the price increased?

It is 9,99 €/£ for Premium (for phone) and 4.99 €/£ for Unlimited (no ads).

i used to love spotify before they decided they wanted all our money :(
i had a free account, but somehow it would very rarely play adverts, it would go for almost an hour without an advert sometimes!

i use grooveshark now, its great. i don't think it will last much longer though. a lot of music is getting taken down and they are having a lot of legal action taken against them.

No offence but what you just said is just beeing cheap. Paying 10£ a month isn't a lot of money for unlimited music and beeing able to listen to it wherever you are if you have a smartphone. Buying a song on iTunes costs what, 1£?

Yes, there are some music snobs out there who rant at Spotify for not having every song out there but you still get a lot for what you pay.

Regarding the adverts its the same as with YouTube, the more popular Spotify got the more adverts they added, and it's ofcourse a trick to get people to get premium accounts.

i have nothing against people who pay for music, in fact i would like to be one of them. but as it stands i am a student, i am in thousands of £ worth of debt and i plan on being in even more debt over the next few years. i have to think carefully about what i spend and £10 a month doesnt really seem like much, but when i add it to everything else it is a payment i really don't need. so why should i pay it when there are ways to listen to music legally and free?

I don't mind if people pay or pirate but what got me going was the "before I used to love Spotify before thet wanted all our money"-line.

Spotify is a business and they want to earn money and people started to rage when they changed they buisness model to limit for those who's not paying when you still get an awsome service for a small amount of money. I don't think there is anyone who can argue against that.

Yeah I like it, the ads are kind of annoying, hate that stupid tune, but its fine. As others have pointed out, using it to find new music is great, as it comes up with suggestions for other bands and stuff :)

that definitely wasn't a rage. it was supposed to be a lot more light hearted than that!

i understand the direction spotify went it and fully support it, i love that there are people out there who are willing to offer such a wide range of music at such a great rate

No, no I wasn't saying you were raging. I just meant people in general.

Anyway

I also have it but only use it to link on to new bands or to see the most popular tracks for a new band.

The weirdest thing me and my friends can't figure out is that I got Spotify without ads with just downloading the free version on the official website. Have it for months now without ads or any blockprograms and haven't paid a dime.
