I know it's a very general question, but overall, which do you think?

I would say Greek civilization. They are unparalleled in the areas of math, science and philosophy in the ancient world.

Hm, a difficult one, since each had their own positives and negatives. But I'd have to go with the Greeks as well for the same reasons as above.

It really depends how you define 'greatest'. I believe the Mongols had the largest empire for example, and then Rome probably had the largest 'civilized' empire.

True, but I don't think waging war and taking over big areas of land makes you particularly "great" - it just makes you a warmonger.

Hmm, I'm not even sure China should be on the list since China didn't technically exist until the 20th Century - before that it was a collection of smaller states (although some of the dynasties controlled most of what is China today, such as the Yuan dynasty).

As an ancient civilisation (as in pre-Christ), the Chinese dynasties weren't particularly technologically or culturally advanced - however they lept ahead when Europe experienced the Dark Ages from around 500AD.

Wowowowowowoo!!
China was bigger than many empires on this list! They were also way ahead of Europe from 0-1500AD. I'd call them more empirey than Rome. They also invented the compass, boomboom powder and one other super important thing! Anyway, whatevs.

I'm going to go with the pre 0 empire, the phoeniciars, which Babylon was a part of, because they invented writing, beer, glass iron and many important things. They were very far ahead of the rest at that point in time. Went from hunters to empire in just a few thousand years ;P

I don't think you can really say that this one was better than the other ... they were all great in their own way and for their own reasons otherwise they wouldn't be on the list lol

Each one has brought something new to the world in one form or another
