I havn't really got any time for a full review, but I had to post about this film after watching it last night.
Directed by Pierre Morel a pretty much unheard of director, this film stars Liam Neeson as the Character Brian Mills - he is pretty much the main character that the film follows throughout the plot. The story is of Liam Neeson's character as a struggling father with a broken family due to spending to much of his time focused on his job within the government, as the title suggests his daughter is taken and the film is the story of how he fights to get her back.
What can I say about this film apart from I was literally blown away by it; the closest I can describe it being is what a 24 film would be like, but without any lull in the action. The character backgrounds are built up so well at the beginning of the film, you get such an impression about Brian Mills and how much devotion he has to his daughter and how absolutely and totally he is Jack Bauer.
I would totally recommend anyone to see this film - it is absolutely epic. The only little bit I didn't really like was the ending of the film, I thought Liam Neeson's character could have been a bit more harsh toward his ex-wife.
Score - 9.5/10.00

Awesome film!
The start was a bit hammed up for my tastes. "Dad spends ages thinking of the perfect gift for daughter, step dad blows that away by buying her a pony", etc
Once the core of the movie got going though was amazing. Liam Neeson's character would kick Jack Bauer's ass.
Written by Luc Besson, so you can see the similarities to Leon, also brlliant.
Everyone should check this film out.

Been a few months since I watched it now but:

It has long been an axiom of mine that the little things are infinitely the most important.

Caught this on film4 a couple months back. Liam Neeson is just too badass!
Also found out they're making a sequel, Liam Neeson's a busy man. He must be really be raking that cash in.

I watched this film at release, and all I can say is I simply wish there were more action films made like it.
Without geeky gadgets, without dumb porn level sex scenes, without the overused superhero and villain concept; just straight up awesome action. I guess it is a tad hard to sell for the publishers though.
Meanwhile, have fun with this :
