I've been using the mx518 for years, but have just bought a G700 for GW2.

I don't really want all the buttons of the G600, whilst the G700 has a couple of extra over the MX518.

Seems like you're judging a book by it's cover by discounting mice with many side-buttons.
Surely you know of someone who has one, perhaps go try it out.
Although it will feel strange and unwieldy at first, only takes a couple of days to not have to think about where your thumb should be for any button.

MMO mice are totally overrated. Especially when playing Guild Wars 2.

Hi Joe

No matter what you price you pay or what you decide to useeach and everymouse has 1 flaw, that is the person who holds it.

Very true. I used to be a bit lazy wi the naga - keybing lots of non reactive stuff to it like AOEs, auto run, map n mount so i'll need to up my game a bit. BTW just message darkademic and ask what he needs in terms of an app - just say your pals wi us lot.

I'm goint to recommend the only mouse I've used since about 2007, the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0. I think there's a newer mouse with updated technology but with the same design if that's important to you. Admittedly I haven't tried a new mouse for a few years now but all the "gamer mice" that I tried when that became popular felt incredibly awkward in my hand and were either too small or too bulky and clumsy.

The majority of the gamers i know IRL live by their trusty MIE3 as do a couple of usnin the guilds. I use it for everything but GW2 or anything that needs a few key bindings. Had mine 8 years or so?

I used the 1.1 for a couple of years before it broke and I switched to the 3.0. People can complain about Microsoft all the want but they sure have designed some great mice. But yeah I guess if you're the type that binds a lot of buttons on your mouse the 3.0 might not be the ultimate mouse as it's only got two side buttons.

Yup. Perect for FPS. Personally higher DPI mice mess with my aim. Im sure the IEM3 has like 300-800DPI.

that's what Im looking at atm, the naga has just too many buttons for me, but I think the 6 on the hex should be just about right for GW2.

I wouldn't recommend a Razer/SteelSeries product to anyone. They tend to break very easily and the overall feel of those products, especially Razer mouses is uhh, how would you say it, they feel like toys.

However, this is just my presonal opinion and if I'd have to recommend a mouse, I'd say go for Microsoft or Logitech mouses.
