they will have to update anyways  

 

if you don't you wont be able to connect to the server... unless you have called your hosting provider and said don't update or revert the update.. but yeah dunno why anyone would do that now!

Never had an issue using an old client before.

I do indeed. So does the server need updating too, or just the client?

nah... they never released a server client update... tho i did noticed they included a temp file.. probably i assume if you never upgraded and join a server a message will appear warning you to urgently update. tho i don't see it anymore cause i updated!
