Given the amount of weeks I spend away from home with work, I'm looking to get a gaming laptop to be able to continue playing when abroad.

Therefore looking for advice or recommendations on brands, models, screens sizes etc from anyone who's recently bought one.

Not got a specific budget, but guessing around £1300-1600 mark. So likely looking at GPUs of 1060 or 1070- is the 1070 worth the extra £300 or so

Thanks in advance

I prity sure the 1070m has approx 2 gb extra graphics mem. So it will help to give you much better gaming expierence Fps wise im sure. You may want to grap a laptop with 144hz screen too. Will you be looking for 1080p or higher ? For modern gaming laptops look for one with decent exhausts too to help the system kick out the heat. Most manufactures seem to have this sorted out these days. Be aware of high specced multi media laptops which may seem fairer priced. Heat is mostly an issue for these systems

MSI and ASUS laptops are good gaming ones. mine is a little old now but i have a MSI GT70. has a GTX 770M at 3gb and an I74700MQ at 3.2Ghz. runs everything good but you can get better these dyas for the same price i got this at a few years ago. cant afford to upgrade or i would have as i use this for some work as well. i work some night shifts so that's when it gets most use. look at overclockers, get all my gear from there. you can use my code if you get anything from there as im an affiliate. its on my youtube channel :P

I was looing at these but went for a non gaming one in teh end.

Check out Razer and also the Dell XPS15 range.  (For Dell, keep an eye on their OUtlet page, as you can pick up some great deals on there)    not sure about the prices unfortunately.
