I'm skeptical about MWB, I'm sure at least the mobile version is dodgy.
I use Click & Clean (It isn't for Malware, but it is damn useful) for Chrome, seems to do what it says with little interference.

MWB's have been around for years, used to be the go-to piece of software for removing nasties, very efficient at it with no real effort by the user. It's progressed into a very commercial product these days, but the main software they produce is still essential if you watch footie streams - firewalls just don;t block what MWB's blocks, and still a very useful removal tool as well. A beta chrome extension i guess gives yet another layer of protection, but i have yet to see any evidence of it doing anything. As for the android version, i use that with no issues, although I'm not that certain that malware is that prevalent in the play store.

Yeah I've used it for years too, it's the commercial part that makes it dodgy

What worried me was when they absorbed adwcleaner into the package, well, its not completed yet, but it will be. Once that's gone us windows power-shell/ other intricacies within windows "illiterates'" will be forced to refresh/re-install windows when we get a nasty, the remaining software i am aware of is not going to do it for you without someone who knows what they are doing in control.
bleeping computer seems to be moving down the road of directly dealing with every infection without use of these apps, so i am getting no clues on new software for cleaning - and i suspect they are not being developed as free tools anymore.
MWB's CEO started off trying to save the world, stating he wanted to free us all of nasties, and for a while, he was achieving that. It seems he has now found money.
RIP cleaning a PC for yourself.
